The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General of Highways, will invest more than five million euros in upgrading the road between the towns of Aledo and Lorca (RM-C21).
Public Works, which ended last April, the first phase of the action, in the section that runs through the town of Aledo, has bid for an amount of EUR 2.4 million works of the second phase, comprising kilometer from 8 to its intersection with the road between Lorca Zarzadilla Totana (RM-C9).
This second action, which will be implemented in the municipality of Lorca, will the remodeling of this pathway in which Public Works has already invested three million euros in the stretch of Aledo, where he carried out the construction of the bridge that meets step of the road on the boulevard of Labor.
The Director of Roads, Jose Guijarro, said "the redevelopment of this road, which crosses Espuña and the Sierra de la Tercia, will significantly improve communications between Aledo and Lorca, and thus promote economic development and tourism sector both municipalities. "
Finally, the general director recalled that "the design of this road, along with the works of the road that connects the town of Lorca with the deputation of Zarzadilla of Totana, which are almost completed, will complete the belt road of the municipality and communications backbone in the regions of Lower and Upper Guadalentín. "
